My interest in physical therapy began in high school when I found myself in physical therapy several times for knee injuries as a result of running track. I ran as a sprinter from 5th through 8th grade, including several times at the CYO Night at the Penn Relays. Unfortunately, I was unable to continue competitive running due to my knee injuries, but I have been able to continue jogging and other recreational activities with the help of my physical therapists. I admired the passion that the therapists had for their work and for helping their patients achieve their goals, whether they were returning to sports or simple everyday activities like climbing the stairs. The knowledge, dedication, compassion, and encouragement shown by my therapists inspired me to want to do the same for my patients.
After being accepted into an accelerated PT program, I earned my BS in Exercise Science from Immaculata University in 2012 and my DPT from Thomas Jefferson University in 2014. While at Jefferson, I had the opportunity to complete several clinical affiliations in the orthopedic, inpatient rehabilitation, and ICU settings. I have experience working with patients of all ages and various diagnoses, from muscle sprains to joint replacements to traumatic brain injuries. While I enjoy treating patients with a wide variety of conditions, I am especially interested in conditions involving the shoulder and the lower extremities. I enjoy working with athletes to help them return to their sports after an injury and minimize their risk for future injuries.
When not at work, I love spending time with my husband Matt, our dog Felix, and family and friends. I also enjoy biking, hiking, and kayaking.
